About Elder Care Watch

Elder Care Watch advocates for people receiving aged care services in all practice settings together with their families and other supporters. It does this through submissions to governments, a website, letters to the editor and individual advice. The organisation is Facebook and Twitter free. In other words, it uses ‘old school’ methods of lobbying, advocacy and communication.

Elder Care Watch is independent and so does not seek or accept funds from governments or from private organisations.

A hard copy newsletter was published between 2006 and 2021 with 86 editions. For a number of years the newsletter was available on subscription and latterly available at no cost to supporters.

A number of the newsletters are posted on the Newsletter Archive page.

There is often considerable material on industrial relations in Elder Care watch publications. This reflects a particular interest of the founder Carol Williams and it is an area of relevance to aged care rarely dealt with in detail by mainstream media.
